Record-Setting and Historic Finish
In a historic and record-setting event at Frozen Head State Park in Tennessee, five runners, including the first woman ever, completed the infamous Barkley Marathons in 2024.
The 38th edition of the event saw 38 starters, including four women and 34 men. Of the total starters, 18 were first-time Barkley runners, including winner Ihor Verys, while 16 were returning veterans.

British runner Jasmin Paris etched her name in the history books by becoming the first woman to ever finish the Barkley Marathons. Her remarkable achievement concluded a grueling 60-hour journey through the challenging terrain of Tennessee.
A Race Like No Other
The Barkley Marathons is renowned as one of the world's toughest and most secretive races. Spanning five 20-mile loops, the course demands more than 54,000 feet of ascent - nearly twice the elevation gain of Mount Everest. Each loop begins and ends at the iconic yellow gate, adding to the race's mystique.
